You know saying better late than never?
Well today I am using that total cliché on you.
Remember how I mentioned that I went to the Food and Wine Conference LAST weekend?
Well, today I am FINALLY going to talk about it. See? Better late than never.
You guys. I am totally food and wine-d OUT after all the amazing things that I stuffed into my face last weekend.
That is, until tomorrow at least 🙂 Friday is always better with a glass of something for the adults don’t you think?
Especially when it’s served in a leopard print martini glass. Not that I own one. (Sidenote: I do <3 )
Anyway. Tangent central up in hur.
I have been pretty lucky that there have been a plethora (is that the right way to use that word? I don’t know, but it sounds smart *insert glasses wearing emoticon here*) of conferences close by me since the move to Florida, and they all have been AMAZING.
The Food and Wine conference did not disappoint.
It was held at the GORGEOUS Rosen Shingle Creek Resort. Seriously, I got my workout just walking to the different rooms – it’s SO BIG! It also has about a million restaurants inside (and the Mexican Cantina makes a MEAN Long Island if you’re ever in the area!)
The whole dealio started on Friday….and we pretty much just ate, drank and mingled all evening. Is there anything better than that folks?
Nope. There is not.
I actually tried my first macaron at the opening ceremony party, and I feel like I have been deprived for 23.5 years. Those cute little colorful bites of yum are DELISH.
Is saying “bites of yum are delish” redundant? Things I’m not sure about.
On Saturday, we all spent the day together and learned about super fun blogger things like search engine optimization *insert sarcasm here.* But, I did learn a lot and those things are important.
The best part of Saturday was OBVI the dinner and wine pairing. We all thought we would just be getting little samples of a bunch of different wines…but we each got FULL GLASSES of F-I-V-E different kind of wines.
Yep, I slept good.
On Sunday, there were a few different classes going on at the same time, so that you could kind of pick and choose the areas that you would like to learn more about. I learned a lot about adding videos to blogs.
Side note: Would you guys like to see some recipe demo-videos on here?
The introvert in me says “Please say no because then you will see me FOR REALZ. AH”
Oh, and we had the yummiest AND prettiest strawberry salad for lunch. I mean, is that babe not….well…a babe?
All in all, I had a total blast! I shared a room with my friend Shaina, who blogs over at Take a Bite out of Boca. We met at BlogHer Food, and it was so fun to have a little bit of a girls weekend away!
However, after all the festivities were done and I walked outside to see Mr. FFF standing there waiting to pick me up, I realized how much I missed the little fellow.
Don’t tell him I called him that.
It’s definitely nice to be home after a crazy busy weekend, but I would HIGHLY recommend attending the conference if ya’ll get the chance!
Here’s some yummy food links just because:
